My first encounter with Chiropractic was far from the image that I had in my mind up until that point. The adjustments that helped Jackie walk again were very specific and gentle. The focus, the care and skill of the Chiropractor and his adjustments had me in awe.
Whether low force (lighter pressure) techniques or more hands on techniques, I am focusing on the tone of the nervous system. Something like tuning a guitar or violin.
Subtle adjustments to the nerves can have powerful and far reaching effects on the body and its performance. The key is knowing exactly where and when (and when not) to make these adjustments. The priority for each adjustment is to be safe, effective and enjoyable!
Our brains keep us alive, knowing if its signals are getting to and from the body efficiently is vital and that is what I do – using gentle, specific and effective adjusting techniques which include; Torque Release Technique, Thompson Technique, Activator Method, SOT and Diversified technique.
If you’d like to get started on your journey to better health, call our Gold Coast chiropractic centre and make an appointment!
When you are welcomed into the clinic by our friendly staff, you will be asked to fill in a brief history and lifestyle questionnaire, and we’ll do a posture analysis.
Following your posture analysis, I will do comprehensive testing on your nerve system as well as orthopaedic tests.
I will then scan your nerve system with some of the latest technology including a thermal scan and a muscle scan (EMG). We will also perform a heart rate variability (HRV) test.
Research has shown real benefits to understanding how well your brain and vagus nerve are controlling the balance between the sympathetic (fight or flight) and parasympathetic (rest and digest) nerve systems. Understanding the “vagal tone” gives us a window into your inflammation levels and how that can affect gut health and mood.
The benefits of these tests is that it enables me to have objective information, in other words, less guess work. That objective information can then be tracked to see how you are going with your care and then we re-check regularly.
Based on the findings up until to this point, it may be necessary to an X-ray which we can do on site or we can refer you for bulk billing. We do this to rule out possible pathologies and to fully understand the extent of the problem.
Nerves are very sensitive structures and as such one needs to be very specific and gentle when working with them. The nerve system gets into a bad pattern over time and with gentle specific corrections, we re-pattern those aberrant segments. There are many different chiropractic techniques and the most appropriate one will be used to according to your age and health factors. Many of the techniques involve no “clicking”.
On your second visit, we will discuss what we have found during our extensive first visit testing and we will discuss your goals and a potential plan of action to get you feeling amazing again.
We value your time and thus our team strives for efficiency. During your follow up visits, I will check for bad patterns in your nerve system and if necessary I will make the appropriate corrections. The goal is to get have zero deleterious patterning and interference in your nerve system as to allow your body to do what does best, take care of itself. Power on!
